SALVAGING SACRED SIGNS: INTERPRETING WORSHIP AS PART OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND'S CATHOLIC HERITAGE

What was the Reformation really about?

Dr Holmes, author of the newly published Sacred Signs in Reformation Scotland (OUP), suggests that a (maybe even the) key emphasis in the journey towards reformation in the Scottish church was how liturgy was interpreted - by Catholics and Protestants. He proposes a distinctive multi-disciplinary approach to enable the historical investigation but one that could equally be applied to contemporary worship.

All are welcome at this open meeting. Supper in Greyfriars is available at the end of the meeting, and all who wish to stay shoud email the Secretary at dgalbraith@hotmail.com to ensure a place. The cost per person is £15 payable on the day.
